June 2025 Open Day at The Salter Centre

JUNE 20, 2025 - The Salter Centre (previously known as The Lothian School of Technology) held an Open Day last June 20, 2025.

We welcomed 35 potential investors and collaborators onsite to learn about what goes on at The Salter Centre.

Aside from learning about Stephen Salter’s mission, our history, and what we do here, visitors were also able to see first-hand the environment and culture at TSC, where the resident companies often work with and help each other.

Visitors were able to talk to the engineers, directors, and founders of the resident companies, namely Edinburgh Designs, Flowcopter, Ocean Cooling Technology, Quoceant, Sequentec, and SynchroStor.

A tour of the facilities was given by student interns and volunteers, and attendees were shown the different company workspaces. They were also given a look into the Machine Shop, a shared fabrication space that houses lathes, mills, and other machinery.

Afterwards, the visitors were able to mingle with staff at The Salter Centre and each other, providing a good opportunity for everyone to expand their networks.
