Student placements and projects
Most companies at The Salter Centre are committed to taking in placement students at different times of the year. Our placement opportunities give students practical experiences in engineering and meaningful work that prepares them for the industry. Project students are also welcome at TSC.
The Salter Centre welcomes placement students every year through the multiple companies that are based here.
We work with different universities around the UK to connect our resident companies and their students. The companies that are usually open to taking in placement students are Edinburgh Designs, Flowcopter, Ocean Cooling Technology, Quoceant, Sequentec, and SynchroStor.
While the requirements of the placement depend on the universities, these placements are typically full-time opportunities. Industrial placement students are usually paid the living wage.
Historically, the companies at TSC take in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering students.
Contact us if you are a student interested in having your placement at one of the companies at TSC, or if you are a placement officer at a university who is looking for openings.
The Salter Centre also takes in project students who are usually 5th year or master's students that are doing their dissertations.
